Problems:

Texas is the only state that requires registrars to be deputized by the county they live in

If a volunteer collects a completed voter registration form for a county they are not certified in, even unintentionally, it is punishable as a criminal offense

Solutions:

Amend the Texas constitution to allow anyone to be a volunteer deputy registrar as long as they’ve completed their prison sentence

Amend the Texas constitution to allow any Texas resident to assist with voter registration regardless of county residence

Amend the Texas constitution to allow anyone assist with voter registration regardless of Texas residence

Require landlords to give voter-registration info to new renters
